Leather & Tartan

Today's look was based around comfort. As women we need days where we can put on a stylish outfit but still feel comfortable!  Skinny jeans are one of my daily garments that i swear by, but on my days off i love to mix it up and wear various alternatives. These are faux leather jogging bottoms from Topshop, they are so comfy and because they have a leather coating, they look dressy and stylish… perfect! I like to style them with my Nike trainers and a tartan long length shirt to add some colour and pattern.

I tried a new make up look going for a dark brown Lipstick and brown eyeliner.
Beauty Tip : I also went over my natural freckles with the brown eye pencil to make my skin appear more natural.

Stylish and comfortable?  TICK

Blue moments

Really wishing away time at the moment and dreaming of summer, travel, waves and of course... my pal the sun.

The top i'm wearing was a bargain from the amaze that is Primark, for £5 you just can't complain! I really love wearing a bold print, it dominates any outfit and almost guarantees you the odd compliment.  A bit of colour will brighten up anyone's day at this time of year.

Leather Trousers

Hello :)
Yesterday me and my boyfriend drove up to Shepard's Bush for a bit of shopping.  I have been lusting after leather trousers (Pleather)  for a long long time.  Now they have hit the high street at really reasonable prices i had to get some.
I know you can get leather look leggings but I'm really not a fan of leggings as i always feel a bit exposed. So i went for the structured leather trouser.
These are from H&M and were £24.99.

Here are a few outfits i have put together to show you my way of styling LEATHER TROUSERS.
I actually found them really easy to style, they look good with anything! So i'm very happy about that, also they are so amazing for the winter as they are nice and warm :).
Let me know what you think and what you would recommend wearing them with.

At the moment i am stressing like a mad woman with the quantity of uni work on my shoulders :(.
I'm sure any of you who are doing or have done a degree know the feeling!

A Small Primark Haul

This outfit is what i wore to university today. My only intention was to be warm so its very layered and wooly!  I never make much effort for uni which is a shame, i always get out of bed at the last second and chuck on some rags! I just find it extremely difficult to get out my bed in the winter when its so warm and cosy :(

On the plus side- i had a Primark haul last week and picked up some lovely winter items!

The leather jacket with stud detail is Primark and cost me £25. Now thats quite a lot for Primark but similar designs are more than double the price in Topshop ect.. so cant complain!
I really needed one as my leather jacket is cropped and 3/4 length sleeves so no good for cold weather!

The stripy jumper is also Primark and i thinkkk it was about £10.
Its so warm and snug and i love how the sleeves are really long :)

I also wanted to talk about my orange bag. It's not from Primark but it is from Camden market. It comes with a matching clutch bag and shoulder strap. And for £20 it's abit of a brag ;)
And is so good for carrying my university load too and from the car.

This Kate Moss for Rimmel London lipstick is really good i would recommend it. My lips are really dry and sore so nothing can make them look particularly nice at the moment, but i love the colour! It is colour number 110.

Love Emily

Autumn Air...

Fur coat - TKMaxx, Trousers - H&M, Bag- Select, Hand Chain - Harts & Crosseshttp://hartsncrosses.bigcartel.com

Feeling the cool autumn air recently so the fur was dug out the closet.
And oh have i missed it!
This is my first autumn look of the season, i plan on showing you my favourite looks going through to winter and my way of styling layers and prints.

I am well and truly a summer girl but i do enjoy feeling cosy in wool and fur fabrics.
These trousers are new, i found them in H&M for £24.99? (I think)
They are really good for creating a statement and keeping with the trend this winter.
I love them!  Printed trousers are my best friend at the moment.

What do you think of the look? Or tartan in general?  Would you wear them differently? I feel a bit restrained to wear them with black, any other colour seems to distract from the print. I'll keep experimenting...

Dont forget to have a look on my clothing site DUTTYRUFFS

Back to my fast growing pile of uni work now ...

It's All About The CLASH

So recently i've been really inspired by images i've found showing clashing outfits.
It is a big trend this season and i have never purposely clashed an outfit before. So i thought id give it ago and show you guys  my interpretation using whats in my wardrobe.
I am defiantly growing in confidence as to what i wear. I am enjoying trying new styles and experimenting with my wardrobe.

Which outfit is your favourite ?

I must apologise for my unprofessional background but it has been raining all day as i'm sure it has for most of the UK, and going outside defiantly wasn't an option. So you get my little pink bedroom instead today :)

Anyway i have started back at university this week, second year is defiantly going to be a LOT of work. It's a bit overwhelming looking at all our modules. So i will apologise in advance for irregular blogging from now until June! Lizzie will be posting more so you can get to know her some more too :)
There is a link in my sidebar for my Pinterest account which i use a lot to log images for university so you can find me there and on Twitter and Instagram :)

And please take a look at mine and my friends online shop where you will find some tempting bargains and sexy party dresses!

xx

(Oh, and if you would like to know where anything above is from just ask in a comment and i will reply :) )

I wanted my look for this event to be quite classic and glam at the same time, so i went for this sparkly shift dress and these black boot heels, which are quite comfy and sturdy.
I knew i had to have fairly comfy shoes to walk around london so this was a good choice!

Out of sight, out of mind...

I was casually doing my weekly browse on Topshop's 'New in this week' and saw this dress on the first page. I was quite pleased when clearing out my wardrobe to come across my very similar version.
I wore it for a night out when i was about eighteen and its been shoved at the back of my wardrobe ever since.
Being a penniless student has made me really appreciate my old clothes,
It just shows that we shouldn't chuck and sell everything after wearing it once because a few years down the line it feels like a brand new dress ! Out of sight out of mind ;)

Another good tip for appreciating your old rags and creating space in your wardrobe, do a seasonal bin bag.
Sounds very strange but its something my mum has always made me do since i was young.
As soon as spring hits and it feels unacceptable to wear your thermals, store them in a bin bag in the loft, and grab your bag of bikinis, summer dresses and hot pants!
When you get your old things out and have a rummage you get that 'ahh i forgot i had this' moment and find a sincere appreciation for not chucking things away and buying a whole new wardrobe.

Current Topshop dress - £45

My dress - New look about 2 years ago
Cant remember a price about £20-£30

While clothes may not make the woman, they certainly have a strong effect on her self-confidence --- which i believe does make the woman.
